Call for Entries in the Rochester Writers’ Conference 2013 Writing Contest!
Categories: Poetry, First Person Micro Fiction, and First Page
Prizes: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards will be given to each category plus a best of show
Entry: Entry to contest will begin on October 15, 2013
Deadline: December 31, 2013
Eligibility Rules: All work must be original and previously unpublished. It must be submitted online or by U.S. Mail by the deadline. Author retains all rights. Rochester Writers’ will not publish any submitted work but retains the right to publish the author’s name and title of work. Open to all writers. Anyone under the age of 18 must submit with written legal guardian approval. All submissions must be in English (unless part of quote within the work or proper name or place). Only title and body of work on front of page. Name, address, email, phone and WORD COUNT on back of page. If submitting electronically, put name, address, email, phone and word count on a separate page from the entry. All electronic entries must be in a WORD DOC or in the text body of the email. Winners will be announced in early 2014.
Description of Categories:
- Poetry: 200 words or fewer, any style, one complete poem
- First Person Micro Fiction: 400 words or fewer, one complete story
- First Page: 250 words or fewer, first page of a novel
Entry Fee: You may submit up to three works (any category) for $10.00. Each additional work for $5.00 each. Once submitted, entry fees are non-refundable.
